25 Best Spiritual Books About Life, Death and Love

We had a lot of fun creating this reading list of the best spiritual books for our amazing readers at Everyday Power Blog.

It’s important to keep growing and learning. Reading or listening to audiobooks is a great way to keep expanding your awareness. Spiritual books, in particular, will help you discover things about yourself and the world that may have silently puzzled you for years. We are very lucky to live in a time when the options are nearly endless.

Best Spiritual Books For Living Your Best Life

In case you are wondering where to begin, here is a quick synopsis of my top 25 favorite books on spirituality. Each of them has deeply touched me and spurred me on in my journey, during which I have studied more than 400 works. Start with something that calls to you and let spirit guide you from there.

1. The Little Soul and the Sun by Neale Donald Walsch

best spiritual booksI have bought dozens of copies of this spiritual book, and I hand them out to anyone struggling with forgiveness issues. It is written for children, but it is so powerful that I can’t   even talk about it without tearing up.
The premise is that all souls are good, but we can’t experience light without darkness, and the people who end up hurting us the   most in life are the souls that travel most closely with us, who have sacrificed themselves to incarnate as that darkness, according to agreements we have made with them to do so. They lower their vibrations in order to help us learn the lessons we have chosen. It will make you look at everyone differently, and honor those who have “harmed” you.

(I pretty much LOVE anything from NDW…including the entire Conversations With God series. A special shout out to The Mother of Invention, which is the life story of futurist and visionary Barbara Marx Hubbard. It’s not his typical work, but it is very inspiring. The thing that brought me the most comfort is that she says that she didn’t find her “life’s purpose” until she was 81!!!!! Wow…relax everyone.)

2. The Astonishing Power of Emotions by Esther and Jerry Hicks

best spiritual books Everything by Abraham Hicks is amazing, simple, and provides clarity that you can implement in your life immediately. This particular book on spirituality helps you view your emotions as a guidance system which will steer you in the right direction. It teaches you the difference between “Upstream” thoughts and “Downstream” thoughts so that you are not constantly paddling against the current. Life is meant to be easy!
(Again…you really can’t go wrong with anything Abe. Ask and It is Given is a great start)

3. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

best spiritual books
This teaches 4 simple laws to live by that will insure a peaceful spirit. The basis is personal responsibility, and not letting anyone control you in a positive or negative way. It suggests that we have been “domesticated” and must rethink how we relate to one another.
Here is an interesting teaching moment that I experienced. I kept walking by this book in the store and it actually repulsed me. I couldn’t stand the cover! Because I was having such a strong reaction I decided to purchase it. I got the audiobook version, listened to it, decided it was crap, and gave it to a friend. He called a few days raving about it. He pointed out that not only was it amazing, but all of the positive changes I had made lately could be directly attributed to it. I was so against it that I couldn’t even see the beauty. I listened to it again, stunned at the insights…and have been a fan ever since.

4. The Vortex by Esther and Jerry Hicks

best books on spirituality Everything you have ever desired is waiting for you to align with it, but you will never do so until you are vibrating at the same frequency as those things. This book teaches you how to easily get into the Vortex and stay there. The amazing thing is how simple it is, and that you are not responsible for figuring out the steps to get what you want, but rather just deciding what those things are and then acting on inspiration.

5. A Woman’s Worth by Marianne Williamson

Best spiritual books

This book is life changing for every woman who has ever struggled because she is different, special, and ahead of her time. Marianne describes us as mermaids. We can come on land and play with men on their turf, and make things magical, but they cannot survive in our domain of the sea…so we can only have them for a little while before we have to say goodbye. We need to find partners who can meet us where we can frolic.
(Just read it all. A Return To Love, Enchanted Love, The Shadow Effect…blissful)

6. Invisible Acts of Power by Caroline Myss

best books on spirituality All of her work is beyond amazing, but this particular one spoke to me. This best selling spiritual book is about how to channel grace in everyday life, and pointing out that your “calling” may be something as simple as living in a particular neighborhood and being a good influence there. It helps you look at everyone with a more gentle, loving spirit.

7. Your Soul’s Plan by Robert Schwartz

Best Spiritual Books
We plan to experience certain things before we incarnate, and thusly create a life plan which may include circumstances that look painful or unpleasant to others who don’t understand that everything that happens to us in life is there for a reason, and that everyone we touch is “helped” by what we have chosen. This is really great book on spirituality if you are asking yourself why you have been put through certain hardships, the death of a loved one, disabilities, or health issues.

8. The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard

best selling spiritual books
This is one of the best spiritual books gives you new outlooks and perspectives which have been gleaned from 2 beings not of this Earth. It answers a lot of questions about things that you might be struggling with from a different viewpoint.

9. Stillness Speaks by Eckhart Tolle

best spiritual books
It is so simple, but few of us can do it. We need to give ourselves enough silence to be able to hear the wisdom of our soul. In doing so we can put an end to our suffering. We must live in the present, not worry about the pressure of the past or the future. A great reminder!
(A New Earth is great, too…but don’t listen to the best selling spiritual audio book while driving. His voice is better than Ambien.)

best spiritual books
This is one of the best spiritual books for every relationship. It helps you determine how you show love, and how you receive love. If your partner is speaking a different love language from your own they may be showing you love but you are unable to see it because you can only recognize it in certain ways, which would be your own language.
